Leader: Denise Roudette

Key points of discussion:

1. Experience of working with young people, in schools, and their desire to do more/ forging links with schools, faith and cultures
2. Difficulties of funding:
• What’s available
• Partnership building
• Timetabling/ fitting in with school
3. Creating golden memories for children. Creating lasting legacy. Children are the future. Giving children a voice – create bonds with schools. Peer to peer learning across schools.
4. The Big Project – lots of small grass roots young people’s projects coming together to create momentum and a large project for 2012. Lots of interest in filling Wembley Stadium with 90,000 children.

Key Actions

• A festival of children at Wembley? (It’s our community hall). A massive school sports day at Wembley
• Possibility of applying to Kensington & Chelsea for one of 31 £1000 grants – art and education projects. Looking to ‘Arts Award’ to fund projects, Business Sponsors, ‘Extended Schools’ initiatives
• Big vision – small steps needed to get there – exchange contact details to keep in touch
